Description

UPDATE: His new owners are besotted and thrilled to have found him. He is loved and adored by them and they tell us he has filled a 'gap' in their lives and a 'space on their bed' and they are very happy.

Thanks for all your help and support.

Bruce is a loving, sweet little boy who had a bad start in life. He landed up in the Pound and was originally rescued by the Humane Society. He was adopted from there in 2014 and spent a year with an owner who, after consulting animal trainers and behaviour experts, regarding severe separation anxiety, concluded that he needed a home with other animals for company. He was three years old when adopted from Humane Society, so his previous history was unknown. His previous owner then found a lovely new home for him and he was adopted in November 2015, by a family with a country property, and other animals, including cats, dogs and horses. Bruce has been very happy and well loved and cared for by his current owners. Recently, however, he had got in trouble with nearby neighbours because he killed several of their Indian Runner ducks and ducklings. He has become difficult to control around these birds and now has to be kept on a long rope for his own and the birds' safety. His current owners love him very much, but fear he could get hurt if neighbours catch him killing their ducks again, possibly even shot. They don't see any other way with Bruce, but to rehome him with a family who have another dog (or dogs) for companionship, but no access to birds, chickens, etc. A secure, suburban setting would be best with owners who are able to spend time with Bruce, not leaving him for long periods.

Bruce is a cute, friendly little boy but is not experienced with young children, so older/teenage children would be ok, or may be an older couple. Bruce also needs a fully fenced and secure section, as he has been known to dig his way out. Bruce is very polite and well mannered and has had some good training. He is good with cats too, but really needs a canine companion.

If you think you might be interested in adopting little Bruce and giving him his forever home, please contact me via this listing and I will arrange for you to meet him by appointment at your home.
